Lunch with the White House Food Service Staff

, originally uploaded by willowdawn.

Just in case my Friday wasn't exciting enough, I spent Saturday at the US Naval Observatory attending a conference for spouses of Naval officers who have been selected for command. At the third module, the chefs from the White House's East Wing, presented us with recipes and cooking tips for 10 recipes from the menu at the White House. There were beautiful garnishes on display. It is clearly evident that these young men enjoy what they do, and are very good at it! We had a great time talking with them and asking all sort of questions regarding the first family and life as their chefs. And of course, all the yummy food wasn't too bad either. The Master Chief and another Chief presented aprons to the Admirals' wives who hosted and planned the seminars.
