My daughter and I went to our Civil War Battlefield this morning hoping for some signs of spring. Alas, no, but we did walk out to the granite pyramid erected by the railroad workers in 1898. The Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Rail Road hauled over 17 tons of Virginia Granite to construct the pyramid, officially known as Meade's Pyramid after General George Meade.
